I have more than thirty years’ experience practicing business law as a partner at two of Canada’s leading business law firms. I have had a broad and diversified legal practice and recently transitioned from my role as a senior partner at Bennett Jones LLP, where I specialized in construction and infrastructure procurement, structuring, financing and delivery, to focus on arbitration and adjudication.

Building on my background in Civil Engineering and my experience as a a project engineer I acted in connection with major project delivery across Canada and internationally. I was the leader of Bennett Jones’ public infrastructure projects practice. I have acted for participants and sponsors in a wide variety of Public-Private Partnership (P3) transactions in various sectors, leading the legal advisory teams for the project proponents, contractors, lenders, underwriters, service providers and owners. In my legal practice I was recognized internationally in infrastructure by Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers for Business for Projects: PPP Infrastructure, as a leading lawyer in project finance by Legal Media Group's Guide to the world's leading Project Finance Lawyers and  IFLR1000: The Guide to The World's Leading Financial Law Firms and as an Acritas Star for 2021. In 2018 I received the Client’s Choice award for Construction Law.

I have acted for clients in real estate, power, mining, forestry, oil and gas, manufacturing, healthcare and transportation and on behalf of architects, engineers and other professional advisors, providing strategic advice on the creation and structuring of project ownership, management and control arrangements and management of disputes and their resolution.

I have acted on behalf of clients in a variety of alternative dispute resolution processes arising out of infrastructure delivery and construction contracts. I am a certified adjudicator for Ontario Dispute Adjudication on Construction Contracts (ODACC) and Canada Dispute Adjudication on Construction Contracts (CanDACC).
