Chad Kopach is a lawyer, Certified as a Specialist in Construction Law by the Law Society of Ontario, and has written and presented extensively on adjudication under Ontario’s Construction Act.
Chad’s clients have relied on him to help them achieve practical and timely litigation solutions, navigate the pitfalls of construction dispute, and leverage the special construction lien, breach of trust and prompt payment remedies available to the construction industry.
Chad has experience in all levels of the construction pyramid, from owners to material suppliers, in residential, commercial, industrial and public projects. He regularly acts on priority disputes involving secured lenders, and has experience in negotiating and drafting construction contracts, including standard form Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC), Canadian Construction Association (CCA) and Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) agreements.
Chad has helped his clients obtain results in claims involving labour and material payment bonds, unapproved extras and change orders, backcharges, negligent work, delay and schedule slippage, professional negligence, out of scope services, and contractual interpretation, including interpretation of supplementary conditions.
