Martin Bamford has over 30 years of experience working in the construction and engineering industry. A Civil Engineering graduate from Humber College in 1990, Martin has held progressive positions in both the private and public sectors and has experience in residential, commercial, and transportation infrastructure projects.
As a senior inspector and quality assurance officer for over 10 years in a multidisciplinary engineering firm, Martin developed significant specialized experience in Building Science, Heavy Civil, Structural, Geotechnical and Environmental fields. A working knowledge of Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical infrastructure rounds out his multi-disciplinary experience.
Since 2006, Martin has been a Construction Site Manager in the public transportation sector, responsible for the day to day management of construction activities and contract management, in addition to supervising a team of construction management professionals. He is responsible for delivery of major capital construction projects on time and within set budget parameters. Martin takes a logical and well-reasoned approach to contract management, understanding the need for a fair and balanced assessment of contractual issues. As a lead negotiator Martin is responsible to evaluate technical and contractual matters, and to make neutral determinations regarding the same.
With a background and training in the evaluation of critical path schedules, Martin is well versed at determining construction delay impacts and associated costs. Martin’s continuing education includes a Certificate in Adjudication for Administrative Agencies, Boards and Tribunals through York University Osgoode Hall Law School.
